Resort Overview and History
The Wigwam Resort, in Litchfield Park has been a relaxing and active retreat for many guests in its 100 years of service. Established in 1918 as a retreat for executives of Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company, the Wigwam quickly became a household name. Its popularity grew to the point that it was opened up for more guests and was officially established as a full-service resort in 1929. This Wigwam was exclusive in that it only allowed 24 guests allowing an elite retreat for those who could visit.
The Wigwam Resort today hosts over 331 spacious “casitas,” seventy of which are suites. Guests are given in-room coffee service, cable television, refrigerator, and wireless internet. Huge private patios can treat guests to a view of the pool, tennis court, or golf course depending on its location. Guests will be able to play on three championship golf courses or choose from nine tennis courts. Relaxation is undeniable at any of the three swimming pools and families will delight in the 25-foot dual water slides! The Wigwam is still catering to conferences to this day with its 25 meeting rooms and 55,000 feet of the outdoor meeting area. The Wigwam is the perfect destination whether guests are vacationing for business or pleasure!

Resort Dining: Litchfield’s and Red’s Bar & Grill
Guests will never leave hungry from Litchfield’s, which is considered to be the resort’s signature restaurant. Named for Paul W. Litchfield, this restaurant is directly helping the community by offering guests fresh farm-to-table dishes. Litchfield’s is the perfect dining destination for anyone whether they are searching for a cozy, romantic dinner or a large, festive gathering. From the appetizers to the dessert, guests will be astounded by the freshness of their meal and will be sure to return in the future.
Red’s Bar & Grill is a fabulous choice for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Overlooking the beautiful, lush greens of the famous Gold and Blue golf courses, guests will delight in the relaxed, casual ambiance of Red’s Bar & Grill. Golf at The Wigwam Resort
The Wigwam prides themselves on their beautiful, spacious golf courses. Each course is designed to allow for a pure golf experience. Each course is accented with canals, streams, and lakes sure to bring a challenge to all guests. The resort is home to three 18-hole championship golf courses. Each course, known as the Gold, Red, and Blue, brings a unique test to keep gameplay lively and allow for even the most experienced golfers to be challenged at times. Golf packages can be purchased for any guest, whether it be a single golfer or the whole family! Guests may also sign up for classes taught by professional golfer Warren Schutte if they would like to learn some tips from a master. Guests will delight in how expansive, fun, and challenging each course is at the Wigwam.
Recreation at The Resort
TennisGuests will find plenty of activities on-site that will provide fun and relaxation for the whole family. Tennis-advocates will find the nine courts at The Wigwam stocked with rentals for tennis or racquetball. Swim and play at the two pools with cabanas available for rent and fully stocked bars. Guests will love the availability of lawn games such as volleyball, corn hole, and ping pong. Fitness fanatics will be right at home at the fitness center that provides several amenities such as ice water, individual televisions, weights, treadmills, full-body machines and so much more. The Wigwam is located near many different attractions guaranteed to add memorable moments to any vacation. Less than a 15-minute drive away is the Gila River Arena, home of the Phoenix Coyotes hockey team. Catch a game easily by picking up tickets from the concierge who will gladly arrange everything.
If sports are not their interest, guests can arrange a trip to the beautiful Desert Botanical Garden. The 50-acre garden showcases a variety of desert plants that will impress all nature lovers. The Botanical Garden hosts seasonal events as well as flashlight tours at night for some extra adventure.
Guests will delight in visiting the Phoenix Zoo which is home to more than 3,000 animals! Children will love to experience the magic of 4-D with the amazing movie theater onsite that showcases seasonal movies. From lions to elephants, the Phoenix Zoo is guaranteed to be fun for the entire family!
